Piaget's theory known as the constructivist theory states:
Children use the information they gain to construct an overall view of how the world operates.
As children learn about the world, the information is stored as a mental structure or schema. Children use schema to help them make predictions, generalizations, or inferences.
Children organize this schema into groups of similar thoughts or actions known as schemes.
